On entering administration, the Insolvency Practitioner (IP) and landlord identified that the significant volume of process chemicals, hazardous liquid and solid waste and environmental permit requirements required expert environmental advice as a priorty action. Further to this it was recognised that an understanding of the hazards and chemical management requirements was required to enable the IP and his team to maximise the value that could be recovered from the facility.
Our Experts Approach
Working with both the IP and landlord, our expert developed and implemented an environmental risk management solution in partnership with all effected parties. Our expert engaged with regulatory and site stakeholders, demonstrating continued compliance with relevant environmental legislation, whilst coordinating and delivering the assessment, decontamination and disposal of remaining hazardous liquid and solid waste, as well as hazardous process and laboratory chemicals. Hazardous chemicals managed included over 40,000 litres of Hexavalent Chromium Effluent, Hydrogen Peroxide, Hydrofluoric Acic, and Hydrochloric Acid.
Through the provision of as needed, expert environmental advisory and delivery support our expert enabled the IP to maximise the value returned to creditors, whilst ensuring that the site operations and surrounding environment were effectively managed in a compliant and environmental responsible manner.
